A bar located in Bambu Indah, positioned on the edge of a cliff with a breathtaking view of the mountains and sunset. We mirrored these elements to reflect the outside experience into the interior space, connecting us with the extraordinary view.
Copper Sun setting, Mountain ridge glowing, Cascade of stone slabs representing the river, each complete slice layed gently on another, and retaining their authentic edges and crusts. Each stone welcomes a guest, their own space, cool to the touch. Encasing all the practical functionality of a bar equipment, fridges, etc).
We nestled our bar design within a unique toroid structure designed by John and Chiara Hardy, a structure like a basket featuring a skylight over the elevator. Seating in nooks that could have been formed by the river itself, Jackfruit trees emerge through the deck and often grow their bounty of fruit directly onto the tables that wrap around them. Along the river-side a bar counter faces out to the view, not flat but occasionally lifting and dipping as the river does, allowing a variety of heights and experiences. Beauty and consistency whether looking outward at the landscape, finding it reflected and resonating on the interiors.
