Bali Sustainable Visions

Completed in 2022, Uma is a collaboration between IBUKU and Earth Lines Architects in Bali. Uma’s design is a distinct fusion of the two studios’ styles. Earth Lines’ contextual vernacular style complemented the essence of IBUKU’s intuitive design approach to create a unique home set into the linear terraces of the site. The material palette balances reclaimed wood, terrazzo, natural stone, and steel with a black bamboo roof structure. Set in a lush tropical garden Uma’s five bedrooms and a spacious open-air living room all facing West over a private valley, lotus ponds, and the rice terraces beyond.
